Congratulations! Having a baby is a joy of life and I'm sure as a parent you want to do the best for your baby and choosing the right name is a very important decision you will make for him. So here you are looking for a name that you will probably say a thousand times in your life.

One of the few things that usually do not change throughout a person's life is the first name. This task of defining the name for your baby is a responsibility of the parents, and you must use common sense in order to avoid the child from going through embarrassing situations in the future.

Remember that simple is often considered to be best, but it does not prevent you from finding a unique name that will highlight your child.

Although choosing the baby's name is hard work, the options are endless. Many factors can influence your decision such as you and your husband's background, the place that you live, family history and many more.

Here are some tips, according to experts, that can help you make a decision:

1. Make a list of names that you like best.

2. Use your common sense when choosing the name.

3. Avoid making up names. You can be creative with the names that already exist without exaggerating.

4. Say the name out loud several times to make sure that you really like it.

6. If you and your husband came up with different choices try to use both names as first and middle names.

7. Look for a good book with several names to make sure you are not missing any names that you may like, so that in the future you will not think and say "I could have picked this one..."

8. If you have doubts about the name just ask family members and friends, I am sure they will love to be a part of this memorable time but remember that at the end of the day, it is yours and your husband's decision to make.

Choosing the baby's name will be a story to tell. You know everyone wants to know how your parents come up with your names, so make this experience as enjoyable as you can. Take your time and if this is stressing you out just stop for few days and maybe you might see a name on television that you may like or somebody calling a name that sounds beautiful or maybe you just start to like a name that you already had seen before, you never know.
